About Alpha Baseball
Alpha Baseball is a performance-driven athlete development facility dedicated to helping athletes maximize their potential through strength training, movement assessment, performance technology, and individualized coaching. Our athletes range from youth players to college and professional athletes, all united by a commitment to long-term development and performance.
We are seeking a full-time Strength & Conditioning Coach who is passionate about athlete development and eager to build programs that directly impact performance on the field.
Position Overview
The Strength & Conditioning Coach will be responsible for designing, implementing, and coaching individualized and group training programs with a primary emphasis on rotational athletes.
This role is ideal for a coach who understands that athletic performance extends beyond the weight room and values the integration of strength, power, movement quality, recovery, and sport-specific transfer.
Success in this position depends on the ability to collaborate effectively with our skill development staff to create a unified athlete development experience. We are looking for a coach who understands how strength and conditioning supports on-field performance and can communicate effectively across disciplines to maximize athlete outcomes.
Hours will vary based on the season. During the summer months, training sessions are primarily conducted in the mornings and afternoons. During the school year, the schedule shifts to afternoons and evenings to accommodate athlete availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement individualized and group strength and conditioning programs
- Lead individual, small-group, and team training sessions.
- Collaborate closely with pitching, hitting, catching, and other skill coaches to ensure strength and conditioning programs align with each athlete's developmental goals.
- Communicate regularly with skill coaches regarding athlete progress, workload management, return-to-play considerations, and performance objectives.
- Build, manage, and update athlete training programs through TeamBuildr
- Develop strength, power, speed, rotational power, and movement capacity in athletes.
- Create and deliver rotational power development programs using medicine balls, force plate data, and sport-specific movement strategies to improve on-field performance.
- Monitor athlete progress and adjust programming based on performance metrics, assessment data, and athlete feedback.
- Conduct movement assessments and assist with return-to-play progressions when appropriate.
- Utilize force plate, movement, and performance data to guide training decisions.
- Maintain a safe, energetic, and professional training environment.
- Build strong relationships with athletes and families while fostering accountability and effort.
- Participate in staff meetings, coach collaboration sessions, and continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications
Required
- Current CSCS
- Strong understanding of strength and conditioning principles.
- Ability to design and implement training programs for athletes.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills.
- Ability to effectively coach athletes of varying ages and skill levels.
- Growth mindset and commitment to continuous professional development.
Preferred
- OnBaseU certification
- Experience working in a private sports performance facility.
- Demonstrated ability to build, retain, and grow a personal client base.
- Strong relationship-building skills with athletes, parents, coaches, and community organizations.
- Experience using the TeamBuildr platform for athlete programming, performance tracking, and communication.
- Experience utilizing force plates, athlete monitoring systems, and other performance technologies.
- Previous experience contributing to business growth through referrals, networking, community outreach, or athlete retention.
